What is it?  It is the belief that we have eternal souls that are born into human bodies to continue practicing what Jesus said:  "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Fathe in Heaven is perfect".

 

The Bible has some references.  In the New Testament Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” They reply that some think he is John the Baptist come back or Elijah returned.  Jesus does not day they are stupid and reincarnation does not exist.  Instead, he says that Elijah had already come back as John the Baptist.  In John 1:21). Jewish leaders asked John the Baptist: “Are you Elijah?”  Later in the same gospel (John 9:2). Jesus and the disciples see a man born blind and the disciples ask: “Rabbi, who sinned, this person or his parents, that he should be born blind?”  Obviously, the man had to have a previous life in which to sin so as to be born blind.

How about the quantum physics point of view?  A main law if that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it only changes form.  Now think of all the energy you put out in a lifetime - where does it go?  Is it all balanced?  Have all the good-expanding equations balanced all the bad-destrutive ones?  Where does alal that energy go?  

 

My direct experience of reincarnation.  As I mention in my book Is Eternity Already Here, my wife of 32 years was Joan of Arc in her last life and I was Cardinal Beaufort who was one of those who watched her being burned at the stake.  In this life, we frequented a fruit stand at the bottom of the mountain where we lived.   It was owned by a small Italian man and his wife, a man who in the years we went there, was not friendly and never smiled.   From my years of meditaion I had developed a new kind of inner instinct that told me this was the man who had been Joan's executioner.  One day when we were at the stand and he was not there we wasked where he was.  She told us tearfully he had gone for supplies, rolled his truck on a corner and because he had left the gas cap off, the truck caught fire.   She told us that after they got him out of the burning truck and to hospital, it took him four days to die.  What goed around does come around, as I saw personally.
